OnePlus 8 Series May be Launched on April 15th without the OnePlus 8 Lite
The OnePlus 8 series has been on our radar since it first leaked all the way back in October. We’re expecting three devices to launch within the series: the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and therefore the OnePlus 8 Lite. We initially believed that each one of three devices are going to be announced at an equivalent time next month, but we’re now hearing that the Lite model could also be overlooked of the initial announcement.
Twitter leaker “Max J” says that the OnePlus 8 are going to be announced on April 15th, 2020, which lines up with the previous report from TechRadar. 9to5Google believes this date to be accurate, while twitter leaker Ishan Agarwal states that the Indian launch may happen each day earlier on April 14th, 2020. WinFuture is now reporting that OnePlus will only unveil the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro at this event, and not the Lite model. Apparently, the event was planned to happen during the center of this month, but the COVID-19 situation forced OnePlus to push things back. we will expect this launch event to be held online given the general public health concern with holding a physical launch event.
WinFuture goes on to say that it might be several months after the April 15th launch before we see the OnePlus 8 Lite. OnePlus reportedly experienced some delays within the development of this product thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. this might have led OnePlus to delay the launch of the Lite model and to hold on with the quality OnePlus 8 and eight Pro. We don’t know, however, when any of those devices will actually continue the sale.
As a refresher, the OnePlus 8 Lite is rumored to possess a 6.4-inch 90Hz display with a centered hole-punch display, triple rear cameras, and MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000 chipset. The OnePlus 8 is claimed to possess a 6.6-inch 120Hz curved, left-sided hole-punch display, triple rear cameras, and therefore the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and 5G support. The OnePlus 8 Pro is rumored to possess a QHD+ 120Hz left-sided hole-punch display, triple rear cameras, and therefore the Snapdragon 865 and 5G capability also. OnePlus recently said the corporate goes “all in” on 5G, but it’s unclear if that has the Lite model. We expect either the OnePlus 8 or 8 Pro to possess a Verizon-specific SKU with support for mmWave 5G connectivity. We also expect a minimum of one among these devices to support wireless charging, even possibly at up to 30W with support for reverse wireless charging.
